This is my ninth and best truck so far. It uses one XL motor for drive, and one medium to steer. The truck uses two live portal axles for maximum clearance. The gear ratio from motors to wheels is 5:1, which makes this truck quite fast.
Here you can see the drivelinks of the truck. Total gear number in it is only 14:

The axles use hub gearing to gain clearance, and ease the tension on the u joints:

Very good job !!
I reproduced it this summer for our french meeting, and it was very pleasant to drive it, even if I broke a lot of old 24T gears ! :D
The technical aspect is very impressive : it as just few gears so the power is well returned, and the portal axles are awesome !

Thank you very much for your interest. I suggest you not to use old 24 tooth gears with XL motor :)
